How far would you go to get closer to someone you love?

Of late every time I look at my husband’s tension-ridden face I get this strong urge to do just about anything to make him forget his woes and bring that smile back on his face.

When I first met my husband, Akshat, I was floored by his politeness, quick wit and a great sense of humor. His honesty and straightforwardness drew me to him. So infectious was his zest for life that it inspired me as well to do things that I never ever thought of doing before. He would regale me with his jokes and one-liners, and the friendship we developed in that very brief courtship period (we met through matrimonial portal) helped me make the most important decision of my life of getting married.

Like every other girl I also entered this new life with hopes of a fulfilling and happy life. But little did I realize that marrying a guy from corporate world will not be easy. The first compromise we had to make was to forgo the honeymoon as his boss did not allow him more than 3 days of leaves to get married!

Its been just 2 months of our marriage but, few days into it and I feel as if I have lost that witty and charming guy I had married.

The high-flying corporate world has taken its toll on him. This new guy I am living with these days is forever burdened with work-related pressure. The tension he carries because of his job insecurity is too heartbreaking. It just makes me feel so helpless when I see the stress and tension seep into his liveliness. Earlier, we would talk for hours sharing our dreams, our sorrows, our thoughts and our happiness. But all of that is lost somewhere. I feel as if our relationship has been buried somewhere under all this stress, tension and office pressure. Till now I would read about it in magazines and newspaper columns how stress can ruin one’s personal life but witnessing it first hand fills me with horror!

How I wish I can take him away and make him forget all this tension and stress.

This “Go further to get closer” contest http://bit.ly/1epU8Uj seems like the perfect chance to make it happen! Not only will it help us to bring that spark back in our relationship by helping us re-bond and re-connect, it will also provide us with an opportunity to take that much deserved honeymoon break.
